Exam & Assessment Results
Please see below the results for particular year groups at Biggleswade Academy over the last three academic years.
Early Years (Reception):
During the final year of the EYFS, practitioners must undertake ongoing (formative) assessment to support each child's learning and development.
In the final term of the EYFS, practitioners review their knowledge of each child using information from all sources to make a judgement for each Early Leaning Goal.
Practitioners may include the following to support their judgements:
- Knowledge of child
- Materials which illustrate the child's learning journey such as photographs
- Observations of day to day interactions
- Video/tape/electronic recordings
- The child's view of his or her own learning
- Information from parents
- Information from other relevant adults
A child gains a 'Good Level of Development' at the end of the Early Years Foundation Stage if they achieve at least the expected level in:
- The early learning goals in the prime areas of learning (personal, social and emotional development: physical development and communication and language
- The early learning goals in the specific areas of mathematics and literacy
Year 1 (Current Year 2) - Phonics:
The phonics screening check is a short, light-touch assessment to confirm whether individual children have learnt phonic decoding to an appropriate standard. This year’s cohort sustained the high standards set over the last two years and continued to exceed the national average.
Year 2 End of Key Stage 1 Testing (Current Year 3) - Teacher Assessment
The Key Stage 1 tests and tasks are taken in Year 2 and the results are used to inform teacher assessment. Last year’s cohort closely tracked the higher national expectations.
Year 6 SATs Results (Current Year 7)
Our Year 6 cohort sat the end of Key Stage Two National Tests as part of the National Curriculum assessment programme. Despite the new, more challenging tests introduced by the Government this year, we were incredibly proud of the hard work our pupils put in and as a result they closely tracked national expectations.
Year 8 Results (Current Year 9)
Our Year 7 and Year 8 cohorts continue to work hard during Key Stage 3. Below are Maths, English and Science results based on teacher assessments (TAs).
National data provided is based on end of Key Stage 3 results (up to and including learning in Year 9).
