Taking part in the 1:1 scheme

The leadership team are currently reviewing best methods to provide a portal through which parents can buy iPads via monthly options. As such, the only way to take part in the scheme currently is through parents sending their child in with a device bought elsewhere. Return to this page for updates.

To bring in an existing device

If you wish to take part in the scheme using an existing iPad we currently recommend that the device is no older than the iPad 2 (2010).  You are also welcome to purchase a device with higher specifications than the basic Mini or Air, however we are confident that these models will remain sufficient to meet the learning outcomes for the duration of our mobile learning scheme.

Device configuration

  • Your child must set up an Apple ID with their school email address (Y4s will have one issued). Please follow the attached guidance precisely as this must be done in a very specific way.
  • Data on existing iPads does not need to be erased in order for them to join our mobile device management software, but the existing Apple ID will need to be removed.
  • Follow the attached guidance to set up the email client.
  • Once the email client it setup the technical team will arrange to have the device configured to work with out Mobile Device Management software. To complete this please process please see attached guidance.

If you require support with device configuration, please email the techincal team via byod.support@biggleswadeacademy.org
